We're told Harvey Smith is resting at this hour for the big night ahead. Meanwhile visitors from Lito Taruc's camp across the street are coming into Smith's HQ to brag about the food spread at Taruc's.
Smith says he's feeling a bit more confident today, less anxious. He spent the majority of the day talking to residents, encouraging them to vote.
Smith has held this seat since 1998, in total though, he's been a councillor for 18 years.
He lost the NDP endorsement this year to Keith Bellamy.
The ward includes the West End and Wolsely and U of W residences.
Its seen a lot of violence, particularily this spring when 16-year-old was fatally shot on Toronto St. in May, one day before two young girls were injured in another shooting. .
Katz supporters say they worked hard today to get the last minute vote out.
